Before you call the list completeA repeatable research checklist
01IdentifyMatch country and registration number.
A website or brand name can point to several legal entities. Select the one your account actually belongs to.
02TraceFollow more than the first level.
Indirect subsidiaries can sit below intermediate owners and use names unrelated to the group brand.
03VerifyCheck a country you know the group operates in.
If a familiar company is absent, investigate coverage rather than treating absence as evidence of independence.
04DecideRecord one reason and one next action.
State why an entity fits your market and what still needs confirming about need or purchasing.
Keep the legal identity and relationship path with each candidate so another account owner can understand your research.
01
Identify the legal company behind the account.
Start with the registration number and jurisdiction if you have them. Otherwise use the website or company name to find candidates. Confirm the entity before researching its relationships: a brand may be associated with several group companies.
02
Explore direct and indirect relationships.
Look below the selected company for subsidiaries and above it for parents. A subsidiary several levels down may be commercially relevant even if its name does not resemble the group brand. Keep the full connection path in view.
03
Check the jurisdictions and gaps.
Compare the countries returned with your knowledge of the group. A missing market does not prove there are no subsidiaries there. Review source classifications, unresolved entities and any limits disclosed by the tool.
04
Separate identification from qualification.
A legal entity is not automatically an independent buyer. Check its operating activity and whether the current group agreement already covers it. Ask your existing customer about purchasing responsibility and potential introductions.
05
Save the research so it can be used.
Keep a shortlist, an owner and a specific next action. When the group changes, revisit your assumptions rather than repeating the entire search. EntityReach supports those steps in the same workspace.
